Her research career is focused on the art of decision making using Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. She was elected to the Board of Directors for the International Society of Heart and Lung Transplantation and serves on the editorial board for the Journal of Heart and Lung Transplantation. Dr. Kanwar was named one of Pittsburgh Magazine's "Best Doctors" in 2019 and 2020.
